The beginning of a New Year marks the beginning of new hopes, aspirations, desires. We gear up for a new undertaking with our dedicated efforts to achieve it. We commit ourselves to resolutions that we want to strike every year with new hopes. Researchers say about 60 percent of people make New Year’s resolutions but only 8 percent are successful in accomplishing them. But precisely, we need to be focused and keep striving to fulfill it. It is easy to promise yourself something but to acquire the desired aim is an uphill battle task. As time passes, the promises fade and in few months we tend to forget them.
Stanford researchers have studied what can cause people to abandon their goals & how can they stay motivated?
Here is the insight,
Electrifying inspiration is essential to accomplish any goal. As people get stimulus by reading or listening to the achievements of great and renowned personalities similarly, we need a stimulus to achieve our set goal.
- Make only one resolution that you actually want to achieve.
- Continually make dedicated efforts to achieve it.
- Remind yourself every day that you have promised yourself something.
It has been stated that those who make resolutions are 10 times successful than those who don’t challenge themselves. We need to channelize our potentials and decide on what we want in our lives. By setting an aimed target, we must surely obtain the desired result.
“ Life is a trip, the only problem is that it doesn’t come with a map. We have to search for our own routes to reach our destination.”
Believing in the same thought, we need to be focussed and very carefully design our resolution.
Though it is not mandatory to set the goals for us but once made it is to be obtained. Every year, as teachers, we make a curriculum plan for ourselves similarly, we make a personal plan for ourselves.
Students at Birla Public School made their own New Year’s Resolutions to introspect and enhance their skills. They promised to themselves what they wish to achieve this year.
