“ The study of geography is more than just memorizing places on a map. It’s about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of our cultures that exists across all the continents. And in the end, it’s about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together.” – Barack Obama
Students are now a days get deflected easily because of many distractions. So valuing the worth possession is a typical task. It is our fundamental duty to bring the children close to the nature and help them to get connected. Sometimes, we don’t realize the importance of things in our lives but when we lose it, it matters the most. Are you someone who wants to see and understand everything about our planet, because without geographers, we cannot solve the problems that we face today.
Studying geography helps us to get to know about various places, community, regions, religions followed along with food habits. To be aware about the region and its characteristics are very important in life. The same can be absorbed within by reading, surfing on internet and physically reaching out to those places.
When we visit any new place, first thing we do is , we surf the place on internet ,its location, famous places to visit and cuisine to be explored. If we have already prepared and planned our trip ,then it would be a successful trip otherwise we may get unwanted surprises. So, locating places in maps and globes help us to know the precise place with an archaeological site, human settlements, towns ,cities, rivers etc.
Geography helps us to assimilate different cultures and we imbibe new values with an open heart. Our country ‘India’ is true example of Geographical Diversity. We have in the north lofty Himalayan Range and river Ganga flows at the foothill of Shivalik Range. In the East ,we have Group of Hills and Brahmaputra river that flows through it. Southern India is a peninsular region with many hills, ranges and rivers. In the West , we have great Indian Thar Desert. Our Country is a true representative of Unity in Diversity.
Geography covers the relationship of humans with environment. But now our beautiful planet Earth is at stake because of our own careless doings and attitude. Global warming, Deforestation , Construction of buildings lead to devastating effect on our planet Earth. The change in climate and weather can be seen now.
